It's wonderful to get the remainder of George Hand's diary. The years compiled for this book are not as dramatic or violent as those compiled for the previous two books, but Hand's dairy still testifies to the fascinating times of late 19th C Tucson.I took a star off because of the horrid usage issues in the preface. While I don't expect Hand, in his personal diary, to spell properly or to use standard grammar, I DO expect the one who compiles and publishes the diary to know the differences between very/vary and then/than. Because this book was a gift, I took a pen and corrected all the ugly-verging-on-illiterate usage & punctuation mistakes in the preface. Egads, Mr. Lawton, if you really do write like a functionally illiterate 6th grader, hire an editor.
