When Fannie left the Amish farm where she grew up, she vowed never to return. Finally free from the lies and the fables that the community forced upon her, she now yields to a life of worldliness and pleasure. But not all that glitters is gold and Fannie falls for the dark lies of Geraldo Pasqualini. All the while, deep inside Fannie’s heart there is the yearning for the true love that seems so strikingly absent in her new surroundings. Hope peeks over the the horizon of Fannie's battered emotions, when she meets Aaron, but can she really dare to dream again? This is the fourth book in a series of four. Each book is a delightful standalone Read, and even better when read alongside the other sister's stories.

Amish Romance Fannie The Saga of the Four Amish Sisters Grace Given 9781520539065 Books

Once again Grace Given had taught me so much about the Amish. I grew up near Lancaster, PA so was used to seeing their horse and buggies, dark clothes etc. but while reading, I could only imagine how difficult it must have been for the new young adults. They were facing not only their hormonal changes; but, asking if life itself held a different meaning for them. So many of us pray, read the Bible etc. weekly; but, to live it constantly must be so difficult for young adults. Never to talk on a phone, use electricity, see a movie and more. This book made me ask myself some of the questions I am sure young people must ask. This is a story about Fannie, a young woman who decided the Amish way of life was not for her. She was doing the typical young adult thing of questioning her parents and herself; wanting to experience life as she THOUGHT it was. But what did she face? She ran away with a young man that didn’t want her, got mixed up with questionable people and was kidnapped. I could not stop reading! Thankfully a young man, who himself had grown up in an Amish family and left to “find life”. Thankfully Aaron was there for Fannie, to help her and to guide her to a better life. But was it? Did Fannie ever find happiness and safety? I loved the way Grace Given told of future events that occurred to Fannie and her family. I love knowing the future lives of people without having to be told a story. This is a must read for all ages!

Amish Romance Fannie by Grace Given
This story will keep you on edge while reading it there are so many different turns that we are not use to seeing in one of these stories that deal with the Amish, they always say fiction but when it comes right down to it in real life things like this does happen.

Please make a review and also send the author a mess that you liked it and that you will also read all four of the stories and also some of her other stories because there more she is a awesome author.
Needs some serious editing!
A most intriguing storyline and characters with God's principles clearly at work versus evil. Couldn't put it down until I finished.
Very interestinbf and clean book. A book Ifeelican ha d to my daughter to read. It is fast enough to holdthgeoir interest. It will also draw them closer to God.
A most enjoyable story. Not at all your typical Amish book but, as is true of all her books, very uplifting.
This is a short story (location 843) but is filled with new things. Fannie leaving her Amish home, kicked out of the apartment, thinking she had found a safe place to live - but was being told that there was no God while living with a fat man & his strange wife. Thankfully, she is helped by an Amish male who had left his Amish home. Interesting things happen throughout.
Fannie, the sister who ran away to live in the English world. Only it wasn't as wonderful as she expected. She fell into a weird group who taught that there is no God, no heaven.

However, that picture of Fannie that Tessa painted and sold was seen by an Amish boy (young man) and one day he recognized Fannie as being the girl in the painting. He secretly followed her and realized she was caught into that group. He had also gotten involved for a short time, but left after figuring out what they were. One night when he was following Fannie, he saw,she was in trouble. She had drunk too much, was smoking and who knows what, but when she started walking towards the edge of the bridge he called to her. He saved her and took her to his apartment. He told her about his experience with the group and convinced her to stay with him, giving her his bedroom and he used the couch. The next day he went to work and she went to pick up her things to bring back to the apartment. Only they wouldn't let her leave. She was locked in the basement.

Aaron was pretty sure they had her locked up and went to the farm for reinforcements.

This was a bit more drama than the others and definitely darker, but a good story with some interesting results. This series has been good.
